Family Time

How many times do you sit down a week as a family?  Often times we say that we are a family or that's my family.  We know one another, or do we?  We come home from work or school and we all go to separate places and dig into social media.  We have our faces down in our devices more often now than ever, either to escape for a minute, share about news and what's on our mind, or laugh at other photos or videos.  This has become the new norm.  Can you remember the last time you sat down in your living room and put the phones down and shared stories, had a laugh, or cried over a situation.  I think too often we rely on social media and others to help us get through something when we should be sharing with the ones we love most, our true family.  So challenge yourself this week to have some quality time with those you hold most dear.

  1. So proud to hear you speak about this Matt. I vividly remember the 2009 Ice Storm in Western Kentucky and how liberating it was to not have access to technology. I am a big believer in having quality time conversing with our families vs. just throwing things on social media. Why do family members consider a Facebook post of "Happy Birthday" to be warm and considerate vs. speaking face-to-face?
