Flying

Do you have a fear of flying?  I think we all do to some extent.  Personally, I love to fly for a couple of reasons.  One is to get to my destination faster.  Another is just the excitement of the experience.  When I was a kid, I always imagined flying whether it be flying like a bird, or flying around like a superhero being able to get someone who was in trouble to safety in the blink of an eye.  When I did fly for the first time at the age of 12, I was fully consumed with the experience, getting to see the cockpit, pilots in their hats, and getting to have your own seat with your own table was amazing.  Finally to top it all off, you got a coke and peanuts for free.  I thought they just did this to be nice, but I think that marketing and research people did it to take passengers minds off of flying, which is actually a pretty brilliant strategy considering to this day, some people don't fly due to a fear of planes.  Flying is actually safer than being in your automobile, but I guess it depends on the person and what you have been exposed to growing up.  I guess the next time you're in a long car ride because you have a fear of flying, just remember I told you a faster way to get out of that vehicle when there are two screaming kids behind you.  You might even get a free beverage in the process.
